Blessings for a New Year

Image
Happy New Year everyone.  I am wishing all of you the best for 2019.  I wanted to start the year off with a monochrome color Blessed card I made with the fabulous Erin Lee Creative products using the  Wreath Stencil . I started with SSS Mint  Card stock . I used distress ink in Cracked Pistachio to add color to the stencil.  It was a little darker than the card stock which turned out nice. I then used applied a light shading of the same ink to a white card stock and cut out the SSS Blessed die cut twice to make it more dimensional.  I embossed a sentiment in white from the MFT Anything But Basic Friends Stamp Set . Finally I added some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh . I added my card panel to a white Neenah 110lb card base. For my second card, I did the same process but left the Blessed die cut white to make it pop more and added the card panel to a Neenah Desert Storm 80lb card base. I love the way this one look...

Stashin' Thank You's

Image
Happy Monday everyone.  Sorry I've been MIA from my blog.  I'm still trying to get the hang of this and set a schedule for how many time to post each month. Today's Blog post is about building your stash with Thank You stamps & cards.  Thank you cards are so important to have in your stash.  I always keep a few on hand to give out when I need to. A card doesn't just have to say thank you.  Build up your stash with sentiment stamps that say grateful,  kindness, or appreciation sentiments.  Today I'm using the limited edition Thank You card kit from Simon Says Stamp. The kit is still available & is a perfect addition to your stash for thank you cards. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves onto Neenah 80lb card stock with the mini ink cubes that came with the kit, Melon, Soft Navy, and Mint Candy (along with some other inks). Then I fussy cut the images. I'm still learning with fussy cuts, so no close ups here LOL. ...

Using Your Stash

Hi everyone. Happy Monday. Today's post is about using your stash to create fun cards. I have a pretty small budget for crafting.  I try to keep my purchases to my monthly budget and that means skipping out on a lot of things, especially most new releases. Sometimes I just have to be patient and wait til I have enough money saved to buy from that release.  And, it KILLS me!!! ugh! However, it does give me the opportunity to go into my stash and use the items that I already have.  Using my stash makes me look at things in a different way.  Coming up with designs, using patterned paper, and stamps & dies I already have challenges me to be more creative.  I made these cards with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge in mind.  The theme this week is Red,White and/or Blue.  And, since the challenge started on 4th of July, a card with stars was so appropriate.  I knew I had some patterned paper left over from p...

Hi Everyone! Today's post is about the June 2018 card kit from Simon Says Stamp - Fly Me Away.  Again, they have knocked it out of the park with this kit! This kit sold out FAST!! There were so many goodies in this kit and they are all sold separately so you can pick and choose what you'd like.  Personally, I absolutely love the huge 6x8 stamp set  Beautiful Flowers  and the ModaScrap Fly and Scrap 6x6 paper pack .  The images and watercolors used for the paper pack are AH-MAZ-ING !  Just look at my first card below. With the paper pack all you need to do is use one of the gorgeous papers, cut to size, and wah-la, you have one beautiful background already created to add a sentiment too. Seriously though, how amazing are those flowers!!!  The card base is Fog card stock . I used White Blizzard  Nuvo Glitter drops to finish the card. This huge flower pattern is a STAMP!!  There are so many things you can do with this stamp a...

May - Kind Heart card kit from Simon Says Stamp

Image
Hi there.  Hope everyone is having a great week.  It's Friday and the weekend is finally here! I thought it would never come. Today's post is about the beautiful May card kit from Simon Says Stamp called Kind Heart.  It is full of so many amazing goodies.  There are two stamp sets.  The Everything Together stamp set is 6x8 with gorgeous lettering. The picture above shows an A2 sized card and how the largest stamp fills up the card.  It's truly stunning! I used emboss resist technique on the card front.  I added VersaMark ink and then embossed using a glitter embossing powder to give it a sparkly effect.  After that, I used Wild Honey Distress Oxide Ink  to cover most of the card front and then wiped away the ink to reveal the prettiness. I love using this technique when I want a solid background for bold lettering stamps. I used one of the sheets from the Pinkfresh studio paper pack that was included in the kit and cut ...
